Every year, upwards of 700,000 spectators fill the stands and surrounding streets for the Rose Bowl Parade in Pasadena, a colorful procession that’s graced the sunny city outside L.A. since January 1st, 1890.

Where to Watch

The 2-hour parade spans 5½ miles of Downtown, starting at the corner of Green Street and Orange Grove Boulevard. From there it proceeds north on Orange Grove, then east on Colorado Boulevard, where you’ll find the best vantage points. After this scenic stretch, the parade turns north on Sierra Madre Boulevard, before ending at Villa Street. Starting at noon the day before, curbside viewing spots along the route are available for FREE on a first-come, first-served basis. Grandstand Seating tickets can otherwise be purchased from Sharp Seating Company.

This Year’s Theme - "Inspiring Stories"

Every year the parade has a theme, and this year it’s "Inspiring Stories." In honor of such, WWII veteran, POW, and Olympic athlete, Louis Zamperini, is the Grand Marshal. Even though he passed away on July 2nd, 2014, his spirit . A story so inspiring it’s the subject of a New York Times bestseller and upcoming Hollywood film, "Unbroken," there’s no one more fitting to be the heart, soul, and face behind this hallowed American tradition.
