Situated on Hollywood Boulevard, Jimmy Kimmel Live tapes at El Capitan Theatre Monday through Thursday at 4:30p.m. Its star-studded location along the Walk of Fame provides the perfect backdrop for his on-the-street comedy skits. He's even been known to close down Hollywood for an outdoor mini-concert, featuring artists such as Coldplay, Lady Gaga, Lady Antebellum, and 50 Cent, after wrapping up taping.
Despite its name, Jimmy Kimmel Live hasn't been broadcasted live since the show's second season. Audience members, however, will still have plenty of bell-aching jokes and snarky comments to relish during the hour-long broadcast. Notable segments include Cousin Sal on Location and Guillermo in Movies, the latter of which features his security guard hilariously superimposed into current films.
Kimmel regularly includes friends and family as part of his show, like the aforementioned "Cousin Sal" who really is Kimmel's cousin. Furthermore, Kimmel's childhood best friend, Cleto Escobedo, leads the house band, Cleto and the Cletones. Guests can purchase tickets through www.1iota.com. Best of all: it's free and located only 3 miles away from Élan Hotel.
