This rock event is giving back. 2013’s Sunset Strip Musical Festival is donating to the show’s headliners’ own non-profit; Music for Relief was created by Linkin Park and is dedicated to providing relief and support for those who have suffered following survival of a natural disaster.
But let’s get back to the music. Rocking out is not an easy career to sustain, but there’s one name that is practically synonymous with the Sunset Strip: Joan Jett. This year, the Sunset Strip Musical Festival is stoked to announce that The Runaways legend and platinum-selling rocker is the 2013 SSMF Honoree. A rock show this size hosted in such infamous territory doesn’t come without a few great names. While the 2013 Sunset Strip Music Festival lineup is already live, don’t forget past performers like Ozzy Osbourne, Motley Crue, The Smashing Pumpkins and Bad Religion have all performed on the Sunset Boulevard stages. As in year’s past, Sunset Boulevard will be closed to traffic between Doheny Drive and San Vincente Boulevard during the August 3rd events, where autograph tents, a VIP rooftop lounge, silent disco and more are all available for ticket holders.
