History of "The Granddaddy of Them All"
Dating back to January 1st of 1902, the Rose Bowl was the first of its kind in the nation, pitting Stanford and Michigan in a blowout match-up favoring the latter, 49-0. Their shellacking resulted in Tournament of Roses chariot races instead of football for the next 13 years (no joke). Since then, the contest has featured a staggering 17 Heisman Trophy Winners and 29 national champions. It's this historic legacy that's earned the game the nickname "The Granddaddy of Them All."
Game Day Parking
